USATF’s Mountain Ultra Trail Council (MUT) 2018 Ultrarunners of the Year have recently been announced. Camille Herron won the Female Road Ultrarunner of the year award before setting a new World record at Desert Solstice with 162.9 miles in 24 hours. Herron also set a new women’s 100 mile track World record in 13:25. Irish ultrarunner Don Hannon – Running To Save Lives is running from Ballycastle in Northern Ireland to Castletownbere in County Cork in Ireland, a distance of 578 miles (930 km) over 12 days starting on March 31st 2018. Don is running to raise awareness of Organ Donation and Transplantation after donating half of his liver to his sister in 2016. Don has set a target of 1000 new donor cards registered. US Ultrarunners Of The Year 2017

The US ultrarunners of the year for 2017 were Jim Wamsley and Camille Herron and Ultrarunning has great interviews with both Camille and Jim (see links below) about his big races last year.
