Anta Guanjun Hong Kong 100 – World Trail Majors 2026 Season Opener
The Anta Guanjun Hong Kong 100 served as the inaugural event of the 2026 World Trail Majors series, drawing elite trail runners and a large international field to Hong Kong’s challenging terrain on 24 January 2026. The iconic ultra-trail takes participants on a 93 km course with approximately 5,000 m of climbing through the UNESCO-designated Sai Kung Peninsula and up to Tai Mo Shan, Hong Kong’s highest peak.
🏆 Elite Results & Highlights
Men’s Race:
Gui-Du Qin (CHN) clinched the men’s title in a strong performance, finishing in 8:52:36, claiming the first 1500 World Trail Majors points of the season.
Guangfu Meng (CHN), a two-time defending champion, took second in 8:58:50.
Guo-Min Deng (CHN) completed the podium in 9:09:48.
Women’s Race:
In a remarkable finish, Veronika Leng (SVK, based in Hong Kong) and Hau Ha (VNM) shared first place, crossing the line together in 10:43:35 after an intense duel and mutual decision not to contest the win.
Ling-Jie Chi (CHN) was third in 10:52:22.
🌍 Broader Weekend & Series Context
Beyond the flagship 100 km race, the Hong Kong event also featured Short Series races (e.g., 50 km), which crowned their own winners and contributed to the growing World Trail Majors Short Series circuit.
More than 3,000 runners from 60+ countries competed across distances, showcasing not only elite battles but broad international participation.
As the opening stop of the World Trail Majors 2026 season, Hong Kong set the tone for what’s expected to be a highly competitive and global series of trail events.
