Arctic Spine Races 2025
At 08:00 UK time on Saturday the 8th of February, the second edition of the Montane Arctic Spine Races will begin, with ultrarunners taking on a challenge that poses a big question – can it be done?
Last year Kev Leahy won the race as the last man standing, however, he did not finish the full course. Similarly, Ed Sellon had originally entered the full race, but chose to finish the Challenger route instead, becoming the first ultrarunner to complete the Challenger course.
Can anyone finish the full course? Will any of the Challenger runners topple Ed Sellon? Who will be the first to finish the brand new Explorer race? Find out this weekend.
Racing non-stop along the Kungsleden Trail in Arctic Sweden, solo and team entrants are set to push the limits as they take on the 66-mile, 129-mile and 293-mile events.
- Start: 09:00 Feb 8th 2025, Abisko
- Finish: 21:00 Feb 17th 2025, Hemavan
- Time Limit: 228 hours
Follow The Action
This race is set in one of Europe’s most remote areas, and so coverage will be a little different to the regular Spine Race. The event will be using a satellite tracking system for this race which means you will be able to dot-watch 24 hours a day, but there won’t be a live leaderboard. Instead, look out for results on their social channels each evening.
